TAEYANG’s RISE Ranked 1st in 10 Music Charts
[스타뉴스 이지현 기자] TAEYANG (real name Dong, Young Bae), who is a member of BIGBANG (G-DRAGON, T.O.P, TAEYANG, DAESUNG, and SEUNGRI), has come back as a soloist after a long period of time, and dominated the music charts.
At midnight on June 3rd, TAEYANG released all the songs in his second full-length album ‘RISE’ on a number of online music sites: as of 3 a.m. on Tuesday, or in just three hours after its release, his title song ‘EYES, NOSE, LIPS’ was ranked first in the real-time charts of 10 music sites, namely Melon, Mnet, Olleh Music, Bugs, Monkey3, Genie, Naver Music, Daum Music, Soribada, and Cyworld Music.
In a number of charts, including those on Mnet, Olleh Music, Bugs, Naver Music and Genie in particular, other songs of his album, such as ‘1AM,’ ‘BODY,’ ‘THIS AIN’T IT, and ‘LET GO,’ were ranked on the top 10 lists along with his title song ‘EYES, NOSE, LIPS,’ thereby reconfirming his position as a top-tier musician.
‘EYES, NOSE, LIPS,’ or the title song of ‘RISE’ was co-produced by TEDDY and DEE.P, YG Entertainment’s main producers. The feeling of this slow R&B-style song in general goes well with TAEYANG’s soulful voice. The lyrics are the words of a man who misses his loved one.
It has been more than seven months since TAEYANG made his last comeback as a soloist with ‘RINGA LINGA’ in November last year, and four years since he released his first full-length album ‘SOLAR’ back in 2010.
