Famous North American Media Outlets Spotlight 2NE1’ Comeback… “Music Video of ‘COME BACK HOME’ is Impressive”

[OSEN=선미경 기자] Famous North American media outlets are rushing to shed spotlight on girl group 2NE1’s comeback and new music video.

 

On the 3 this month, the music video of “COME BACK HOME”, one of the double title tracks of 2NE1’s second regular album, and “HAPPY”, another song included in the new album, was disclosed. In the two music videos, 2NE1 reveals contrary appeals, to catch the eyes and ears of fans.

 

In the morning on the 4 this month, VICE.COM, the Internet web-site of North American news magazine VICE, published their interview of 2NE1 with an introduction of 2NE1’s comeback with their second regular album, world tour, and the music videos that have been released recently.

VICE.COM is introducing 2NE1 by saying, “Rapper CL, dancer MINZY, and vocalists BOM and DARA first stormed the scene in 2009 with the barnburner “FIRE,” then cemented their international renown with instant classics like “I AM THE BEST” and “LONELY.”  It went on to compliment 2NE1, “They earned the respect of everyone from Diplo to Jeremy Scott, , and built a fanbase empire with foreign legions as far-flung as France and Brazil”.

 

2NE1’s leader CL explains about the music video of COME BACK HOME, saying, “For the video, the entire process was very different. …it’s more like a movie than anything else you have seen from us”, in the interview with VICE.COM. She also drew attention by stating, “For this album, we pretty much locked ourselves up in the studio and gave it 100%… I ended up making ten songs in about two weeks”.

 

2NE1 also expressed their determined resolution, “We are giving everything we have into this album and tour… So each one of us personally has that “do or die” attitude”.

 

Besides VICE.COM, famous American magazine SPIN and America’s popular music web-site POPDUST also spotlighted 2NE1’s comeback and music video.

 

SPIN is complimenting 2NE1, saying, “2NE1 released their second album in almost three and a half years, CRUSH, and now they’ve released a pair of head-spinningly hyperkinetic videos as if to underscore they weren’t wasting that time”. It moves on to further praise 2NE1, “…its virtual-reality premise puts that largesse to work, culminating in alternate-world terrorism and a dystopian future cityscape. ‘HAPPY’ is almost the exact opposite in every way except entertainment value…” POPDUST is explaining the outline of 2NE1’s new music video by stating, “The sci-fi-themed video… ‘COME BACK HOME’ is laced with giffable special effects and bonkers CGI”.

 

2NE1 is showing interesting moves with their second full-length album “CRUSH”, appealing to not only Korean fans but also fans around the world. As 2NE1’s newly-released music videos are creating a big sensation, people are now paying keen attention to what dance and live performance 2NE1 will show on the stage.

 

Meanwhile, 2NE1 held Seoul concert of their second world tour “ALL OR NOTHING” on March 1 and 2 at SK Olympic Park SK Handball Hall located in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. They will give a comeback performance in SBS “INKIGAYO” on the 9.
