YG TREASURE Makes Debut on ‘Inkigayo’, “An Impressive and Fierce Performance of ‘BOY’… Killing Point=Various Group Formations”
[OSEN=이승훈 기자] TREASURE presented their debut performance on ‘Inkigayo’ and introduced the killing points of their new song, ‘BOY’.
On SBS ‘Inkigayo’ broadcasted on the 9th, TREASURE had a pre-up interview prior to performing on stage.
YOON JAE HYUK of TREASURE revealed his thoughts of debuting on ‘Inkigayo’ by stating, “We thank the fans so much for waiting. We’ll work really hard from now on, so please look forward to it”. CHOI HYUN SUK introduced the group’s debut song ‘BOY’ by explaining, “It’s a song with a strong track and an impressive performance. On the other hand, the lyrics contain the rushing heart of a boy towards a girl”.
Furthermore, BANG YE DAM of TREASURE chose teamwork as TREASURE’s unique charm and explained, “It’s the 12 members who have differentiated charms and tram-work”. SO JUNG HWAN raised anticipation on their debut performance by stating, “As we have many members, the various group formations are the killing point”.
TREASURE is YG’s major rookie group being announced in 4 years since BLACKPINK, and is composed of 12 members including CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, BANG YE DAM, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN. They’ve made debut on August 7 with their debut single album, ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’.
TREASURE has dominated music charts not only in Korea but also overseas as soon as they’ve released ‘BOY’, while its MV has surpassed over 10M views, allowing the group to establish themselves as the ‘global super rookies’.
Meanwhile, TREASURE’s debut single ‘BOY’ is a song with impressive beats and a catchy dance break drop which make the listeners feel the music with their bodies. The lyrics state a boy’s pure yet passionate love as he rushes toward an attraction, which he feels for the first time of his life, contrasting with the dynamically transforming track.
