SSE Live Awards, “BLACKPINK Was the Best Group of 2019 and Was the Most Impressive”
[스포츠월드=김재원 기자] BLACKPINK raised the status of K-Pop once again. On an awards ceremony hosted by The SSE Arena, Wembley, BLACKPINK was selected as the best group of 2019 and as artists who had the most impressive concert.
On February 10(local time), The SSE Arena, Wembley announced the list of winners for the ‘SSE Live Awards 2019’ through their official social media account.
BLACKPINK won the honor of winning the double crown, as they have been selected as the ‘BEST GROUP’ and won the ‘EVENT OF THE YEAR’.
The ‘EVENT OF THE YEAR’ award aggregates 4 different categories including the ‘BEST SPORTING EVENT’, ‘BEST LIVE ENTERTAINMENT’, ‘BEST GROUP’, and ‘BEST SOLO ARTIST’. It is in fact the biggest award given at the ‘SSE Live Awards’.
The presenter who called out BLACKPINK has stated, “K-Pop had extraordinary moments in 2019. Many fans who lined up in front of the Wembley SSE Arena from early hours have contributed on the successful performance of BLACKPINK, the K-Pop group “.
He continued, “It was a night to remember (the night BLACKPINK performed)”, looking back at BLACKPINK’s historical concert.
BLACKPINK has held the ‘BLACKPINK 2019 WORLD TOUR with KIA [IN YOUR AREA]’ in the SSE Arena, Wembley last year on May 22. The Beatles, known as the ‘legends of Pop music’, have previously performed at the SSE Arena in addition to famous global artists including Abba and Beyoncé. BLACKPINK is currently preparing for their tour concert to be held at the Yafuoku! Dome, Fukuoka on the 22nd, while also working their upcoming album.
