BLACKPINK Fascinates Newark… Heated Reactions on the 2nd Day
[OSEN=김보라기자] Girl group BLACKPINK grabbed the local fans’ hearts by successfully completing their second concert in Newark, New Jersey.
On May 1 and May 2(local time), BLACKPINK held the ‘BLACKPINK 2019 WORLD TOUR with KIA [IN YOUR AREA] NEWARK’ in Prudential Center, Newark.
After opening the concert with various special effects including lasers, gunpowder, and fog, BLACKPINK performed their mega-hit song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, which is about to surpass 800 million views on YouTube. They also decorated their opening with songs ‘FOREVER YOUNG’, ‘STAY’, and ‘WHISTLE’.
The members made the crowd react by stating, “Thank you for welcoming us. We are happy to meet our fans from Newark” in fluent English. Then they added, “Let’s have fun tonight”.
Dua Lipa, the global Pop star who previously collaborated with BLACKPINK through the song ‘Kiss and Make Up’ last year on October, appeared as a special guest on their first concert to present a special gift for the fans. The audience passionately cheered at Dua Lipa’s appearance, which was not noticed in advance.
BLACKPINK and Dua Lipa’s first collaborative live performance made their concert in Newark more meaningful and plentiful. BLACKPINK, Dua Lipa, and BLINK shared a special and fantastic moment together.
After finishing their performance with Dua Lipa, JENNIE and ROSÉ shared their overwhelming thoughts by stating, “Something magical just happened”, and “It was a moment we’ve been waiting for, and I’m happy it finally came true”. Dua Lipa revealed her special affections towards BLACKPINK by watching the group’s concert throughout.
Including their new song ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ and their debut track ‘BOOMBAYAH’, BLACKPINK presented their various charms for 120 minutes during their setlist consisted of tracks such as ‘Really’, ‘See U Later’, and ‘Kick It’.
Fans of various age groups including children were spotted at the concert venue in Newark, while they captured BLACKPINK’s music and performances through their eyes and ears. JENNIE communicated with the young fans by yelling, “Shout out to baby BLINKs”.
While waiting for the group’s encore performance, the audience started shouting ‘BLACKPINK’, and BALCKPINK wrote another special page of memories with their fans.
After connecting with the local music fans through their 2 concerts in Newark, BLACKPINK will now continue their North America tour in Atlanta on May 8 and in Fort Worth on May 8.
