[뉴스엔=이민지 기자] BLACKPINK is in full swing preparing for their long-awaited comeback.

YG Entertainment announced on October 20, “BLACKPINK will begin filming their new music video this week. Both the members and staff are doing their utmost to deliver the best possible outcome until the very end of production.”

The agency continued, “We sincerely thank fans who have been waiting for BLACKPINK’s comeback. The album is currently in its final stages to ensure the highest musical quality. Once preparations are complete, we will share the good news through an official promotional announcement.”

BLACKPINK previously released their digital single ‘JUMP’ in July, achieving massive global success. The track debuted at No. 1 on the weekly charts in its first week, setting a new record for the most No. 1 songs held by a K-pop group. It also became the fastest K-pop girl group song to surpass 300 million streams on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform. With such achievements, anticipation for their upcoming release continues to grow.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently on their ‘DEADLINE’ world tour, which began in July with a historic concert at Goyang Sports Complex, the first-ever performance there by a K-pop girl group. The tour spans 16 cities and 33 shows worldwide. After successfully completing their North American and European legs, the group is now set to meet fans across Asia starting in October.
