On the October 16 broadcast of Mnet’s ‘M Countdown,’ BABYMONSTER took first place with their 2nd mini album title track ‘WE GO UP,’ earning a music show trophy in the very first week of their comeback.
BABYMONSTER said, “It’s all thanks to MONSTIZ (the fandom). We’ll repay all the love and support you’ve given us with even better performances.”
Although the group also won first place during last year’s ‘SHEESH’ promotions, this was their first time receiving a trophy on a live broadcast, meaning they had never before experienced a live encore stage since debut. Known as a “live performance powerhouse,” expectations for their encore had already been high as soon as news broke that they were nominated for 1st place.
During the encore, the members delivered a flawless live performance that rivaled their main stage, earning an explosive response. RUKA and ASA’s sharp rap verses, AHYEON’s thrilling high notes, and the members’ distinct vocal tones added to the immersion. Even though the encore was performed with only instrumental backing and no vocal assistance, BABYMONSTER’s overwhelming live skills made it feel like watching a solo concert.

The encore performance video posted on YouTube channel M2 surpassed 960,000 views in less than a day (as of 3 PM on the 17th), proving its explosive buzz. It clearly showed how high fans’
anticipation had been for BABYMONSTER’s encore.
