BABYMONSTER’s Live Encore After ‘M Countdown’ Win Surpasses 800K Views in Hours
[스포츠서울=배우근 기자] BABYMONSTER showcased their live performance skills by taking first place on a music show at the same time as their comeback. On the October 16 live broadcast of
Mnet’s “M Countdown,” BABYMONSTER performed their 2nd mini-album title track “WE GO UP” and successfully kicked off their promotion activities by winning first place.
In particular, their encore stage right after receiving the trophy drew an explosive reaction. Since music show encores are performed only with instrumental accompaniment and no vocal backing, it is the section that most clearly reveals a team’s live singing ability. BABYMONSTER delivered sharp rap verses, contrasting vocal tones among members, an energetic chorus, and AHYEON’s high notes and difficult whistle tones in the latter half, all performed stably, heightening the immersion on site.
At the request of global fans, the full version of the encore was uploaded separately on M2’s YouTube channel, and the video instantly surpassed 800,000 views right after it was released. Their
performance, arranged as if they were enjoying singing live over the instrumental track, received comments like “Legendary 1st place encore.”
BABYMONSTER will now begin full-scale promotions for their 2nd mini album [WE GO UP]. Starting with MBC’s “Show! Music Core” on October 18, the group plans to expand their schedules through YouTube, radio, and various other platforms to further connect with global fans.
