BABYMONSTER Captivates at 2NE1 Concert with Stellar Acapella Renditions of ‘UGLY’ and ‘LONELY’
[OSEN=김나연 기자] YG’s sensational new group, BABYMONSTER, made a guest appearance at the 2NE1 concert.
On the afternoon of October 6th, the Olympic Hall at Olympic Park in Songpa-gu, Seoul, was the venue for the final show of the ‘2024 2NE1 CONCERT ‘WELCOME BACK’ IN SEOUL’, which ran for three days starting October 4th. A total of 12,000 fans attended the event over the course of the series.
BABYMONSTER took to the stage during the peak of the evening’s atmosphere. They captivated the audience with a flawless live performance of ‘SHEESH’.
After their performance, BABYMONSTER expressed their gratitude. “We are deeply thankful to our seniors for inviting us to this meaningful concert, which marks a reunion after ten years.”
They continued, “As rookies, this is our first time performing on a guest stage. We were quite nervous in the dressing room, but the joy and support from the audience helped us perform well. It’s an honor to share our first guest stage with 2NE1. We aspire to become as great artists as our seniors.”
AHYEON specially mentioned, “Thank you to the Blackjacks (2NE1’s fandom) for the warm welcome. I’ve been a huge Blackjack myself. Yesterday, I prepared a dance cover, but today I sang a few lines of ‘UGLY’ acapella.” Her solid acapella performance was met with enthusiastic participation from the audience.
In a similar vein, RAMI showcased her talent with an acapella version of ‘LONELY’, further proving the group’s vocal prowess. BABYMONSTER then closed their guest appearance with a dynamic performance of ‘BATTER UP’.
DARA later took the stage, commenting, “Did you see BABYMONSTER perform? They are beautiful and very talented. Thank you for coming, and seeing them reminds me of our debut days. We also went on tour with Big Bang as guests,” she said. “I miss the YG FAMILY. It seems like a lot of people came to watch, and I love and miss everyone.”
