YG Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK Reveals Aggressive Promotion Plan for BABYMONSTER in 2024
[헤럴드POP=박서현 기자] YG’s Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK has unveiled the 2024 activity blueprint for BABYMONSTER.
On January 1, 2024, at midnight, YG Entertainment posted a video titled ‘BABYMONSTER NEXT PHASE | YG Announcement’ on its official social media channel. This comes about seven months after the final member announcement of BABYMONSTER, YG’s next-generation girl group, in May. YANG HYUN SUK, overseeing the whole process, from BABYMONSTER’s training to their debut, officially appeared to explain their future plans.
YANG said, “In the case of 2NE1 and BLACKPINK, most members debuted in their 20s, so I treated them like junior artists. BABYMONSTER is different, with the youngest member, CHIQUITA, being just 14, a year older than my daughter,” he said, smiling. “It feels like I’m taking care of them more meticulously, more like daughters than artists under my label”.
Under the full support of YG Entertainment and YANG HYUN SUK, BABYMONSTER will release their second single, ‘Stuck In The Middle’, on February 1. YANG commented, “It’s a song like no other released by YG so far. The members’ outstanding vocal abilities and unique tones make even the smallest breath sound so beautiful that you’d want to close your eyes and focus intensely”.
As YANG introduced, this comeback is expected to reveal another charm of BABYMONSTER. The song ‘Stuck In The Middle’ is a 180-degree turn from their hip-hop genre debut song ‘BATTER UP’.
YANG also announced that following the release of ‘Stuck In The Middle’, BABYMONSTER’s first mini-album will be released in April. This new promotion style of YG, speeding up and diverging from the traditional approach while actively reflecting fans’ opinions, has been revealed. Just two months after their official debut in late November with musical variations and releasing a new song in February, the group is set for a comeback with their first mini-album in April. This tight roadmap reveals BABYMONSTER’s active strides, anticipated to garner a lot of global fan response.
BABYMONSTER debuted on November 27 with their first digital single ‘BATTER UP’.
