TREASURE Fully Blossoms, Solidifying Popularity with Second Japanese Tour in 2024
[뉴스엔=이민지 기자] Group TREASURE showcased a detailed journey this year, from a massive Asia tour to activities with the T5 unit and their second full album, a Japanese fan meeting tour, and culminating in a grand year-end solo concert in Seoul.
This year, TREASURE’s perfect ‘reboot’, fitting the title of their second full album ‘REBOOT’, was evident. They shed their youthful image for a more mature one, proving a level up in every aspect with high album participation and a variety of units. The hard work for their fans bore fruit, marking the past year as particularly meaningful.
# Proof of Musical Growth… 1.88 Million Albums, A Personal Career High
TREASURE kick-started their comeback powerfully with ‘MOVE’ by unit T5, a pre-release track of ‘REBOOT’. The track, featuring a diverse combination of rappers and vocal lines, expanded their spectrum and deepened TREASURE’s unique musical color with contributions in songwriting and composing for ‘BONA BONA’ and several other tracks.
This led to a personal career high in various indicators. The album, including domestic sales and exports to Asia and North America, reached 1.71 million copies, placing them in the million-seller ranks, and currently records 1.88 million copies. ‘BONA BONA’ topped the iTunes song charts in 20 countries, and the track ‘B.O.M.B’, without much promotion, reached number one on Billboard’s ‘Hot Trending Songs’ chart.
# ‘Must-See’ Performance Artists… Opening the Second Japanese Tour in 2024!!
Strengthening their foundation, TREASURE has transformed into ‘must-see’ performance artists through massive global tours and fan meetings. In the first half of this year, TREASURE created unforgettable memories with a total of 420,000 spectators across 40 performances in 17 cities in Asia. Particularly in Japan, they attracted 300,000 spectators, setting a new record for ‘the most attendees on a first tour by a Korean artist’.
Following this, they completed their first Japanese fan meeting tour across 5 cities in 20 performances, becoming ‘the first Korean artist to debut at Tokyo Dome with a first fan meeting tour’. Recently, they successfully completed a grand scale solo concert in Seoul and will continue the momentum with their second Japanese tour next year, starting at Fukuoka PayPay Dome on January 6, moving to Saitama on January 13-14, Aichi on January 20-21, Osaka on February 3-4, Fukui on February 10-11, Nagoya on February 14-15, and Hiroshima on February 22-23.
# Dominating Music Awards… Why 2024 is Even More Anticipated
Recently, TREASURE has been sharing joy with fans at various music award ceremonies. It started with the ‘Best Unit Award’ trophy lifted by T5 at the ‘2023 K Global Heart Dream Awards’ in August. They continued with winning the ‘Artist of the Year’ award at ‘The Fact Music Awards’ for two consecutive years, and on the 28th and 29th of last month, they became two-time winners at the ‘2023 MAMA AWARDS’.
Their distinct presence in the global music market is also notable. Since their debut, the cumulative Spotify streaming of their music recently surpassed 1 billion plays. Previously, the Grammy Awards in the U.S. also highlighted them as the ‘K-Pop Boy Group to Watch in 2023’. There is growing anticipation for what dazzling steps the perfectly ‘rebooted’ TREASURE will take next year.
