[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK successfully concluded their second Japanese Dome Tour, painting the Osaka night sky with a pink hue.

On June 3rd and 4th, BLACKPINK held the ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] JAPAN’ at the Kyocera Dome Osaka. Having met 110,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome last April, they added another 100,000 in Osaka, mobilizing a total of 210,000 spectators across two cities in four performances. Kyocera Dome held special meaning for both the artist and fans as it was the venue where BLACKPINK made history as the fastest foreign girl group to perform there since their debut. They achieved sell-out concerts amidst fierce competition, and their pop-up store was also bustling, proving the extraordinary interest of local fans.

At this performance, JISOO was unable to participate due to being diagnosed with COVID-19, and JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA decided to take the stage as a trio to keep their promise to fans who had been waiting for a long time. JISOO asked for the fans’ support and strength for the other members, conveying her regretful feelings and promising that the others would perform even harder on stage.

In response, the fans heated up the concert venue with even more enthusiastic cheers. As if responding to the explosive cheers, BLACKPINK opened with a powerful performance of ‘How You Like That.’ They expressed their delight in returning, saying, “JISOO unni was unable to come and was worried and regretful, she really wanted to see the fans in Osaka. We three will do our best to also cover JISOO unni’s part, so please enjoy it.”

The members filled JISOO’s absence with their overwhelming performances and stage command, as befits ‘world-class’ artists. They performed a string of mega-hit songs that had received explosive love from music fans worldwide, such as ‘Pretty Savage,’ ‘Whistle,’ ‘Lovesick Girls,’ ‘Kill This Love,’ ‘Shut Down,’ ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU,’ and more. YG’s concert know-how, a rich live band sound, and high-quality direction added charm to the concert, making the venue even hotter.

From solo performances showcasing diverse charm to encore stages, BLACKPINK, who ran non-stop, expressed their gratitude to local fans for their unwavering love. Fans responded with applause and cheers towards the members, who interacted with fans all over the stage, promising to meet again.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is conducting the largest scale world tour for a K-pop girl group, the ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK],’ which is expected to mobilize about 1.5 million people. Having successfully completed the Japanese Dome tour, they will now head to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, where member ROSÉ spent her childhood. They will also take the stage as the first K-pop artists to headline the ‘Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival’ held in the UK this coming July.
