YG TREASURE, 2nd Full Album ‘REBOOT’ Wins Twice on Billboard Japan
[스타뉴스=한해선 기자] YG TREASURE is continuing its popularity streak by dominating the major Japanese album charts.
According to YG Entertainment on the 9th, TREASURE’s 2nd full album ‘REBOOT’ achieved the top spot on Billboard Japan’s ‘Hot Albums’ and ‘Top Albums Sales’ charts on the day it was announced, winning two crowns.
‘Hot Albums’ is a chart that ranks not only album sales but also combines download counts, a meaningful index that can gauge both the firepower of the local core fandom and the wide popularity.
TREASURE had also conquered the top spots on Japan’s Oricon weekly album chart and weekly pop (import) album chart the previous day. They have achieved four crowns by sweeping prestigious local weekly album charts, demonstrating their powerful presence. Their frightening global popularity expansion is expected.
Indeed, TREASURE’s 2nd full album ‘REBOOT’ has been attracting attention by drawing a steep upward curve. The title song ‘BONA BONA’ recorded first place in iTunes song charts in 20 countries, and the album broke through 1.71 million copies (based on Circle Chart) in combined domestic sales and overseas export volumes, joining the ranks of the first million sellers.
Especially, large-scale fan meeting tours in Japan, major urban pop-up stores, and other major projects are closely prepared, so the final sales volume is expected to grow even more. Starting in September, a large-scale first Japanese fan meeting tour is being conducted in five cities over 20 times, and entering the ‘dream stage’ Tokyo Dome has been planned. TREASURE will be the first K-pop artist to enter the Tokyo Dome with their first Japanese fan meeting tour.
