TREASURE Surpasses 1.71 Million Sales with 2nd Full Album… First Time Becoming a Million Seller
[뉴스1=김민지 기자] Boy group TREASURE has set a new milestone by becoming a million seller with their 2nd full album ‘REBOOT’.
According to the Circle Chart operated by the Korea Music Content Association on the 3rd, TREASURE’s 2nd full album ‘REBOOT’, which was released on the 28th of last month, ranked first in the album category for the 30th week (July 23~29). The CD recorded 1,533,616 sales, and the total sales including KiT and Tag albums was 1,718,517.
This reflects the combined total of two days of domestic sales and exports to Asia including Japan and North America. This record, more than triple the sales of their second mini-album, is significant as it is TREASURE’s first time becoming a million seller on a single album basis.
The successful Asian tour that spanned 40 performances in 17 cities is analyzed to have influenced this record-breaking success. The steady influx of global fandom and the firm expansion of TREASURE’s position in the music market are significant points.
In addition, TREASURE is preparing various projects for the second half of the year, including active 2nd full album activities and a large-scale fan meeting tour in Japan. Considering the partnership with Columbia Records, a major American record company, the final sales volume is expected to increase even more.
TREASURE announced a brilliant comeback by releasing their 2nd full album ‘REBOOT’ on the 28th of last month. The title song ‘BONA BONA’ ranked first in the iTunes song chart in 20 countries. In major regions in Asia, South America, and Europe, it ranked high on the iTunes album chart, and also took the top spot on the LINE MUSIC album Top 100 daily chart, Japan’s largest music site.
Meanwhile, YG is running a pop-up store at the Atrium on the first floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, Seoul, in celebration of the release of TREASURE’s 2nd full album and the 3rd anniversary of their debut.
