‘BLACKPINK THE GAME’, Takes Over Major Billboards Across the Globe from New York→Paris→Tokyo
[OSEN=지민경 기자] The new mobile game based on BLACKPINK’s IP, ‘BLACKPINK THE GAME,’ is heating up anticipation as it captures the attention of people around the world.
According to YG Entertainment on the 27th, the teaser video for ‘BLACKPINK THE GAME’ has been displayed in various major cities around the world, including Bangkok’s Siam Square One, Paris’s La Tern, Tokyo’s Yunika Vision, and New York’s Times Square. It is currently being broadcasted on large billboards in front of COEX in South Korea.
The video features new visuals of BLACKPINK, 3D avatars highlighting the members’ individuality and characteristics, and various in-game scenes, including costume customization. As it adorns famous landmarks in each country with countless crowds passing by, global fans’ interest in ‘BLACKPINK THE GAME’ is expected to increase even further.
Scheduled for release in the second quarter of this year, ‘BLACKPINK THE GAME’ is a game in which players become BLACKPINK’s producers in a multiverse world, helping the members grow. It offers various modes, including training and office management simulation, puzzles using photocards, and decorating BLACKPINK avatars in one’s own style.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently on their largest-scale K-pop girl group world tour, ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK],’ which has mobilized around 1.5 million people. After successfully completing 14 shows in 7 cities in North America and 10 shows in 7 cities on their European tour last year, they are now heading to Asia to meet more fans.
Recently, BLACKPINK performed as the first K-pop headliner at the American ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival,’ attracting enthusiastic responses from music fans worldwide. They are also expected to perform as headliners at the UK’s biggest music festival, ‘Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival,’ which will take place in July.
