BLACKPINK Sells 2.14 million Copies in Two days…First K-POP Girl Group to be a Double Million Seller
[YTN=이승은 기자] Group BLACKPINK has become a double million seller for the first time as a K-POP girl-group, with their 2nd full album selling 2.14 million copies for two days after its release.
YG Entertainment said based on the Circle Chart run by the Korea Music Contents Association, BLACKPINK’s 2nd full album ‘BORN PINK’ sold 2,142,200 copies for two days on the 16th and 17th.
YG Entertainment said such figures are the sum of exports to North America and Europe along with domestic sales, and predicted that the sales figure will further increase, considering the fact that the first week’s records are not reflected into this figure and how the group is soon to hold a world-tour.
On the Hanteo Chart, which is another album chart, [BORN PINK] was found to have sold1,342,000 copies in six days from the 16th to the 21st.
Circle Charts are aggregated by subtracting returns from shipments, and Hanteo charts reflect real-time sales at music store franchises.
Therefore, generally, the sales volume on the Circle Chart comes out to be higher.
