[OSEN=박소영 기자] The song and M/V of BLACKPINK’s pre-release single for their 2nd full album ‘Pink Venom’ will be unveiled at 1PM today (19th). Attention is being drawn by global fans as it’s the return of K-POP queens, who have been taking over major global charts and renewed every record they have on YouTube.

According to YG Entertainment, ‘Pink Venom’ is a hip-hop genre song that stresses BLACKPINK’s original charisma. Korean traditional sounds create perfect harmony with intense beat from the intro, and the powerful rap and strong vocals intensifies the charm all 4 members have.

Following the intro, an addictive melody plays out on top of minimal drop beats. YG said this part will immediately expand the characteristics of the song and provide listeners with a thrilling excitement.

Attention is also being drawn to ‘Pink Venom’s’ M/V as YG had previously said the most amount of production cost was put in the clip. The M/V portrays Korea’s beauty by displaying Korean harps and sundials, and shows the conflicting and beautiful images ‘Pink’ and ‘Venom’ has. As the grand set and atmosphere, along with extravagant performances were previously notified, the clip is expected to satisfy the ears and eyes of global fans.

Many are wondering whether BLACKPINK will make history as a K-POP girl group. Pre-reservations for their album surpassed 1.5 million within a week, and the 20 second teaser video of ‘Pink Venom’ reached 130 million views on all together on YouTube alone.

When looking at the number of pre-orders, their 2nd full album sold morn than double of their previous full album ‘THE ALBUM’, during the same period. Considering how there’s still a month left until the release, it’s possible that they’ll sell more than 3 million copies, going beyond two, showing their unrivaled presence in the music market.

BLACKPINK will also take the special stage of ‘MTV VMA’ on the 28th (local time), which is one of the four major music awards in the U.S. They will then release their 2nd full album on September 16th and kick off their mega-scale world tour starting with Seoul, North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. It’s almost impossible to predict how long their popularity will continue on as they’ve put in place various projects, which live up to their title of being the world’s top girl-group.

YG said “Pink Venom, which is the pre-release single for their 2nd full album, will kick off BLACKPINK’s [BORN PINK] project which will continue on into 2023. It means much more than just a new song which comes in a year and 10 months. Please look forward to their activities which will heighten the status of K-POP once again”.
