Taeyang’s solo appearance in JP ad for the first time with his powerful dance
Taeyang, a member of BigBang, was scouted as a model for an advertisement in Japan for the first time.
He was selected for the visual artist character on Japan Street Dance Association (JSDA), where he could show off his dance skills.
The commercial shooting took place in mid-April in Tokyo, where the ‘high-speed control’ camera was used for the first time in Japan. A camera was mounted on a high-speed motion control crane, and the shooting was done in a much faster motion control than usual cameras, which highlighted the powerful dance of Taeyang.
JSDA chose Taeyang for their model as they were impressed with how energetic he was in BigBang’s World Tour concerts.
This is the first advertisement shooting for Taeyang. “I am really pleased and it is my hope to inspire people through my music and dance. I hope I can move the hearts of people, especially with my dance,” the artist said.
JSDA’s new advertisement with Taeyang will be aired on television from May 13 all across major cities in Japan, and will be on the billboards of Tokyo Shibuya station, Nagoya and Sakae stations in Nagoya, and Shinsaibashi and Ebisubashi stations in Osaka. They will also be distributed all across the country on trucks, websites, magazines, and public transports.
JSDA was established in 2001 to promote dance for dance-lovers. To standardize the levels of dance, they have conducted street dance test, audition, and workshops, while the association also proactively supports and sponsors dancing groups to encourage more people to join.
