“Why YG Spends Millions”…Will WINNER Prove the Worth of Their “’5 Year Contract Renewal’?

WINNER (YOON, JI-NU, MINO, HOONY) held a press conference on the 5th at YG Entertainment’s building located in Hapjeongdong, Mapogu Seoul, commemorating the release of their 4th mini-album ‘HOLIDAY’.
All four members of WINNER renewed their 5 year contract with YG Entertainment last year. As this album came for the first time since their contact renewal, it added even more meaning.
YOON said, “One the main reason we decided to renew our contract was because the four of us could be together. We’ve been working with our staff members for the past 10 years, since we were trainees’, so we were able to create great synergy”.
He then added, “We thought we could carry out our activities with great satisfaction if we could keep working with them, and members were on the same boat.”
HOONY said, the contract was renewed based on trust with YG. He said, “YG created the basis for all our members to be close and tight for the past 10 years. It wouldn’t have been possible without them. We came up with a great result based on our trust with the company.”
WINNER is determined to prove their skills with results, especially since they started a new chapter through the contract renewal. When asked their opinion on album records, HOONY said, “Of course we want to come first.”
He said, “We prepared really hard to do better in terms of album sales compared to before. Ever since I was discharged from the military, we held monthly meetings to put even more effort into this album. That’s why we really hope for a good result”.
He then added, “We’re not doing music just as a hobby. There’s a reason why YG is spending millions on us”, making everyone at the site laugh. He said “I know this might sound like a joke, but that’s how genuine we are, and we really hope people can recognize how much effort we’ve put into this. We ask for your support and interest”.
Their title-song ‘I LOVE YOU’ is a song that portrays the honest feeling of those who fell in love. It’s full of WINNER’s energetic and upbeat characteristics.
‘I LOVE YOU’ also feature disco dance moves and point choreography that can be enjoyed by everyone. YOON and MINO took part in the lyrics and composition process, adding even more completeness and meaning to the song.
Meanwhile, WINNER’s 4th mini-album ‘HOLIDAY’ will be released at 6OM today (5th) through various online streaming sites.
