WINNER Reveals the Making of the MV for ‘MILLIONS’… “We Thank President YANG”
[아시아경제=이건희 기자] Winner revealed the making film of the MV for ‘MILLIONS’, the single that achieved an ‘all-kill’ status on music charts.
On December 20 at 1 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded the making film of the MV for ‘MILLIONS’ through their official blog. In the video, YOON explained the song by stating, “It’s an exciting track which the listeners can spend the year-end with joy”. He added, “The listeners can raise their self-esteem by thinking, I have millions of reasons to be loved”.
WINNER’s behind stories on the shooting of the MV were also revealed. YOON explained, “We’re going through many rehearsals to create a MV that reminds viewers of a musical, that connects to a single story”. He also revealed his determination by adding, “We’ll create an amazing piece”. HOONY asked for the fans’ attention while choosing the ‘sets that fit the 4 unique individualities of each member’ as the focal point of the MV.
HOONY also presented the point moves of the choreography while explaining, “We’ve wondered how we can express the word ‘MILLIONS’, and our president advised us to act as if we’re counting numbers”.
The members of WINNER expressed their gratitude towards YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK for his frugal directing. “It was amazing”, the members began to talk. They continued, “He did not take a single break. We thought he might feel uncomfortable, but he lit up the mood of the scene”. The members shared their gratitude by adding, “We would like take this time to express our gratitude”.
The members also revealed various behind stories from the shooting scene including how the killing part of ‘MILLIONS’, where HOONY’s ‘It hing’ was created and how MINO lost the bet on a coffee truck after performing the wrong choreography.
In the end, WINNER shared a message for the fans by stating, “We’re happy to be back with a good song titled ‘MILLIONS’, which we put our affections towards all of you”. They added, “Let’s spend a warm year-end together”.
Meanwhile, WINNER’s new single ‘MILLIONS’ released on the 19th is currently at no. 1 on 7 different music charts including Melon, Bugs, Mnet, Olleh, Soribada, Genie, and Naver, notifying the start of WINNER’s chart dominations during the year-end of 2018.
As WINNER’s 2nd album ‘EVERYD4Y’ released on April, MINO’s solo track ‘FIANCÉ’, and WINNER’s ‘MILLIONS’ have topped music charts, WINNER won the meaningful title of ‘3 consecutive no. 1s’ in 2018.
WINNER also proved their global influence. ‘MILLIONS’ topped iTunes Song Charts in 19 different regions all over the globe including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Peru, Argentina, Philippines, and Thailand as soon as the song was released.
