[텐아시아=신지원 기자] YG Entertainment said on the 28th, TREASURE’s first mini-album ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ has sold more than 800,000 copies.

Not only this is their best record in terms of album sales, but given the fact their promotion activities will begin for their follow-up song in April, there’s a chance of them becoming a million seller.

TREASURE had already reached 600,000 copies during their pre-sale period before their comeback, and expectations rose even further as they commenced their official activities.

Not only their title-song ‘JIKJIN’, but ‘DARARI’ naturally gained popularity on TikTok without any M/V or performance stages, allowing TREASURE to make their presence even clearer to the public.

TREASURE will be holding activities for their follow-up song as well to pay back the love they received from fans. They will unveil their stage for ‘DARARI’ during their concert on the 9th and 10th of April. YG also decided to produce a music video for the song.

Although it’s not a definite indicator of popularity, album sales are generally known to represent how much their core fandom has expanded.

It’s a positive indicator that more and more global fans are purchasing TREASURE’s album, and even greater synergy is expected with their upcoming concert and follow-up activities.

Meanwhile TREASURE increased their popularity indicators by 3 times within a year in terms of album sales, song records, and YouTube with their mini album ‘THE SECOND STEP : CHAPTER ONE’.

Their album took the first spot on the iTunes Chart in 30 different countries and further listed itself on top of the Worldwide Album Chart, and took home 2 trophies for the domestic Gaon February Chart, along with taking over Japan’s Oricon Weekly Chart.

The title-song ‘JIKJIN’ came first in various major music sites and won two trophies at music shows (ShowChampion, Music Bank)’, and made noticeable records such as entering the U.S. Global 200 Chart.
