BLACKPINK’s ‘STAY’ M/V Reaches 300 million Views…21.5 billion Cumulative Views on YouTube
[헤럴드경제=고승희 기자] Group BLACKPINK has earned its 16th 300 million view M/V. ‘STAY’ has reached exceeded 300 million views on YouTube.
YG Entertainment said on Monday that BLACKPINK’s ‘STAY’ M/V has reached more than 300 million views as of 12:46 a.m.
According to YG, this feat was reached after 5 years and a month since it was released on the 1st of November 2016. Including ‘STAY’, more than half of BLACKPINK’s videos that reached hundreds of millions of views are over 300 million views including all the M/V ‘s for their title songs.
Ahead of ‘STAY’, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU (1.7 billion views)‘, ‘Kill This Love (1.4 billion views), ‘BOOMBAYAH (1.3 billion views)’, ‘As If It’s Your Last (1.1 billion views)’, ‘How You Like That 1 billion views)’, ‘Playing With Fire (700 million views)’, ‘WHISTLE (700 million views)’, ‘Ice Cream (600 million views)’, ‘Lovesick Girls (500 million views)’, and ‘Lovesick Girls (500 million views)’, had reached more than 300 million views on YouTube.
‘STAY’ is one of the double title songs of BLACKPINK’s second digital single ‘SQUARE TWO’. The guitar riff and string sounds stand out in the son, being an acoustic folk pop genre. At the time of release, this song topped major music charts both home and abroad along with ‘Playing with Fire’.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK now has more than 21.5 billion cumulative views on YouTube, and the number of subscribers on their channel surpassed 70.4 million. This is the most out of artists from all around the world.
