BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ Dance Practice Video Reaches 400 million Views. Shows Everlasting Popularity.

[헤럴드POP=정혜연 기자] BLACKPINK’s explosive popularity reaching hundreds of millions of views on YouTube is continuing on with their dance practice videos, beyond just their music videos.

According to YG Entertainment on the 19th, the dance practice video for ‘Kill This Love’ surpassed 400 million views on YouTube as of 12:05 a.m.

The music video for ‘Kill This Love’ has only about 4.8 million views left until it reaches 1.4 billion views, which is another signal to their everlasting popularity.

‘Kill This Love’ took the hearts of many fans around the world with their addictive point choreography of shooting a gun and by portraying BLACKPINK’s one and only intense girl-crush charms

In the first week of release back in April 2019, the song reached 41st and 24th on U.S. Billboard main charts Hot 100 and Billboard 200 respectively, breaking the record among K-POP girl groups.

The song also took the very top spot on U.S.’ iTunes Song Chart which was the very first for a K-POP girl group, and was the first record in 15 years among female girl-groups from around the world

BLACKPINK now has 30 videos on YouTube which reached more than billion views including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ which has the largest number of views of 1.696 billion views among K-POP group music videos.

The number of subscribers for their YouTube channel is also soaring quickly. LISA’s solo album ‘LALISA’ which was released on the 10th took over global charts, which added even more popularity to the group.

In fact, the number of subscribers of BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel increased by nearly 2 million since LISA’s solo debut and has currently more than 66.8 million. This is the most number of subscribers among male and female artist around the world.

BLACKPINK is breaking various new records regardless of group or solo activities. The music video for LISA’s title song ‘LALISA’ reached more than 73.6 million views within 24 hours of it release, taking over the title as ‘The World’s Best Solo Artist’. It then reached 100 million views in just two days, setting a new record for reaching such a feat in the shortest amount of time as a K-POP solo artist. The music video is now on its way to reach 200 million views.
