LISA Breaks Taylor Swift’s Record…’LALISA’ M/V Breaks World Record with Most Views Within 24 Hours As Solo Artist
[엑스포츠뉴스=조혜진 기자] The M/V for group BLACKPINK LISA’s title song ‘LALISA’ broke the world record as a solo artist in reaching the most number of views on YouTube within 24 hours.
According to the official count released by YouTube on the 13th, LISA’s solo title song ‘LALISA’ recorded 73.6 million views in just a single day after it was released on the 10th.
This is a world new record as a solo artist, surpassing the number of views reached by Taylor Swift’s M/V for the hit song ‘ME’ back in April 2014 which reached 65 million views. When comparing it with records hold by groups, LISA’s feat comes in 6th, and BLACKPINK is the only female artist that is ahead of her own record.
‘LALISA’ is a song where strong brass riff that resembles a siren and dynamic rhythm works in harmony. Intensive visual elements met with LISA’s powerful and dynamic rap skills creating explosive synergy leading to great popularity.
The M/V surpassed 100 million views on YouTube within just two days of it’s release and re-wrote the record for a K-POP solo artist to reach such a feat.
It’s also maintained it’s top spot on YouTube’s ‘Most viewed videos’ for the fourth consecutive day, and 2nd on the chart is ‘LALISA’s special stage video, showing how the album is being loved by global fans.
The song also took over global charts. ‘LALISA’ topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in a total of 60 countires on the first day of release, and soon increased the cumulative no.1 countries to 71.
Album sales also signaled the best record as a K-pop female solo artist. The ‘LALISA’ album which recorded 800,000 pre-orders took over the Hanteo Chart and Gaon Retail Weekly Chart just with two and a half days of counting after its release, raising expectations on how she will do for the rest of this week.
