WINNER Renews Contract with YG for Another 5 Years… Celebrates 7th Debut Anniversary Reunited
[OSEN=지민경 기자] On August 18, YG Entertainment revealed that they’ve renewed their contract with all members of WINNER(YOON·HOONY·MINO·JINU) for another 5 years.
WINNER is a group loved for their broad musical spectrum surpassing genres and their sophisticated vibes. They’ve grown and established themselves as global stars for the past 7 years, under YG’s full-hearted trust and support.
The members of WINNER made their decisions early to repay the love they’ve received from the fans. They united at YG’s new headquarters on the 17th to celebrate their 7th debut anniversary and agreed to renew their contract.
As a result, WINNER will continue their musical companionship with YG in a more stable and supportive environment. Since WINNER has received favorable reviews from both the public and critics with their high-quality music and fresh sounds, people are looking forward to what they will continue to present in the future.
Through the agency, WINNER stated, “We would like to say that we truly respect Inner Circle(fandom name), who always stayed beside us on our side. We exist today because of you. We would like to continue our journey of music without destination with you, and share more beautiful memories”.
WINNER won the survival program ‘WIN: Who Is Next’ back in 2013 and earned their group name, ‘WINNER’. They’ve prepared themselves and made a glamorous debut with their first album ‘2014 S/S’ the year after, on August 17, 2014.
Starting with the song ‘EMPTY’, all title tracks from their albums including ‘BABY BABY’, ‘REALLY REALLY’, ‘LOVE ME LOVE ME’, ‘EVERYDAY’, ‘MILLIONS’, ‘AH YEAH’, ‘Hold’, and ‘REMEMBER’, have been ranked at no. 1 on major music charts, in and out of Korea.
The group is currently on a break due to members JINU and HOONY serving their military duties at the moment. Members YOON and MINO have both released their solo albums and are currently active in various fields including acting, variety shows, and art.
