BLACKPINK to Appear on Japan’s Representative Music Broadcast Show, ‘Music Station’

[헤럴드경제=고승희 기자] Group BLACKPINK will appear on Japan’s representative music broadcast show, ‘Music Station’(hereby ‘M Station’).

According to YG Entertainment on the 14th, BLACKPINK will appear on TV Asahi’s ‘M Station’ on the 20th and perform ‘Lovesick Girls -JP Ver.-‘. They will also discuss their latest release in Japan, ‘THE ALBUM’.

‘M Station’ is the representative music show in Japan, which has received love from the public for 35 years. It is known as a must-appear program for Pop stars from overseas who are popular in Japan.

It will be BLACKPINK’s second appearance on ‘M Station’ after their appearance back in October 2019, after the group successfully completed their first world tour.

BLACKPINK released ‘THE ALBUM -JP Ver.-‘ on the 3rd. The album has not only been ranked at no. 1 on Oricon’s Daily Albums chart, but has also topped Japan’s Apple Music Top Albums chart.

Songs also performed well. All songs from their album has been placed on the top ranks of Line Music and Japan iTunes, while all songs from the album lined up on the Top 10 Song chart of the AWA Chart, proving the local fans’ heated attention.

BLACKPINK has sold a total of 1.3M copies of their first-ever full-length album, ‘THE ALBUM’, released last year in October. They became the first-ever K-Pop girl group million sellers(based on Hanteo/Gaon Charts).

They also dominated various global charts. ‘THE ALBUM’ has topped iTunes Album charts in a total of 57 countries as well as being ranked at no. 2 on the US Billboard and UK’s Official Charts, renewing their own best K-Pop girl group record.
