BLACKPINK ROSÉ to Release MV for ‘GONE’
[스포츠경향=안병길 기자] BLACKPINK ROSÉ will finally release the MV for her sub-title track ‘GONE’.
Since the actual MV for the song which has surpassed 50M views on YouTube just by a 33-second ‘Coming Soon’ teaser is being released, the global fans are paying keen attention.
On April 1, YG Entertainment uploaded ROSÉ’s ‘GONE’ MV poster through their official blog(www.yg-life.com), officializing the news. ROSÉ’s image stuck in counter light with the background in red flames looked fierce, while the number ‘0405’ notified the MV release schedule.
‘GONE’ is a song about letting go of a past lover. The minimal arrangement with a guitar base sounds impressive, while ROSÉ’s soulful vocals also received favorable reviews.
The MV teaser which began with an ambient guitar sound grabbed the fans’ ears, while ROSÉ’s vocals and delicate acting expressing inner sadness into various emotions also grabbed the viewers’ eyes and ears.
From a scene where white feathers were blowing helplessly in the dark and ROSÉ lying down in the bathroom, and her disappearing in the midst of burning roses seemed to contain numerous metaphors, making the viewers immerse into the video.
The video had sensuous visuals as much as the title track ‘On The Ground’, making the viewers see the hard work put in along with the confidence of YG and ROSÉ.
Meanwhile, ROSÉ’s first solo album ‘R’ has achieved success on various global charts, including the US Billboard. The title track ‘On The Ground’ has topped iTunes Top Song charts in 51 different countries including the US, as well as being ranked at no. 1 on the Global YouTube Song Chart(3/12~3/18) and the MV chart.
The song also entered the Global Top 50 chart of Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform, as no. 8 and set its position within the top 10. The song also entered UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100 as no. 43, proving BLACKPINK and the group members’ influence within the major Pop scene.
