YG TREASURE Dominates Oricon Charts Following its No. 1 on Line Music… Achieves ‘All-Kill’
[한경닷컴=이준현 기자] YG’s rookie group TREASURE dominated the Oricon Chart with their Japanese debut album.
According to YG Entertainment, TREASURE’s first Japanese official album ‘THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT’ has topped Oricon’s Daily Albums Chart(3/31).
The album debuted at no. 1 on Japan Line Music’s Albums Top 100 chart after its release on the 31st. The album was also placed on the top ranks of Japan iTunes and Rakuten Music, proving the local fans’ heated interest towards TREASURE.
The beginning is strong. TREASURE has brought a sensation in Japan by dominating both Line Music, the biggest music platform in Japan, as well as Oricon, the biggest music portal site of Japan, while competing with famous artists when they cannot actually promote their music in Japan.
In fact, songs that were pre-released before their actual debut including ‘BOY’, ‘I LOVE YOU’, ‘MMM’, and ‘MY TREASURE’ have all been ranked at no. 1 on major music charts. Songs ‘BOY’ and ‘MY TREASURE’ has dominated Line Music’s Weekly Chart for 2 consecutive weeks, proving their extraordinary popularity.
TREASURE’s first Japanese album ‘THE FIRST STEP : TREASURE EFFECT’ contains a total of 13 songs. The album includes 12 Japanese versions of songs that were locally popular despite the lyrics being Korean, and the song ‘BEAUTIFUL’, which is a theme song from the animation ‘Black Clover’.
