BLACKPINK JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ Choreography Video Surpasses 200M Views… The Unrivaled ‘One Top’
[OSEN=지민경 기자] BLACKPINK JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ choreography video surpassed 200M views. She has set the first·best records, and is in fact unrivaled as a solo artist.
According to YG Entertainment on March 18, JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ CHOREOGRAPHY UNEDITED VERSION surpassed 200M views on YouTube yesterday as of 10:27 PM. It was achieved in approximately 2 years and 4 months since its release on YouTube back in November 16, 2018.
The video showed JENNIE dancing with the dancers in an elegant space. Her powerful moves, various facial expressions, and point moves of matching her finger to her shoulder and drawing a circle with her finger impressed the viewers.
BLACKPINK is known for reaching hundreds of millions of views with not only their MVs, but also with their choreography videos. It is unprecedented for a choreography video by a solo artist to reach such number of views, and proves her global popularity and influence.
The MV for ‘SOLO’ also shows off its unrivaled YouTube views as a content released by a solo artist. The MV for ‘SOLO’ surpassed 100M views in 23 days, setting the fastest record in Korean female solo artist history. It then reached 200M views in 90 days, 300M views in 182 days, 400M views in 13 months, 500M views in 20 months, and 600M views in 26 months.
The song also achieved amazing success on music charts. ‘SOLO’ topped the real-time·daily·weekly charts of major Korean music platforms, achieving a ‘perfect all-kill’. The song also became the first-ever song released by a Korean female solo artist to top the iTunes Worldwide Song chart at the time, and was ranked at the top 10 of the US iTunes chart.
BLACKPINK, the group JENNIE is part of, is known as the ‘YouTube Queens’ with a total of 26 videos with over 100M views. Including their MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, which has the biggest amount of views among all K-Pop groups with over 1.5B, their new releases are setting the first·best·biggest records on YouTube.
