BLACKPINK Sets the ‘First X Best Record Among All Girl Groups in the World’ in Spotify Followers
[엑스포츠뉴스=최희재 기자] Group BLACKPINK’s Spotify followers surpassed 20M as of March 15(US local time).
With over 350M users, Spotify is a music streaming platform which has the biggest impact on the US Billboard and UK’s Official Charts.
It is the first and best record set by all girl groups from the world. BLACKPINK is quickly catching up to global Pop stars such as Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Billie Eilish, Taylor swift, Beyonce, Adele, and Dua Lipa.
BLACKPINK has become the girl group with the biggest number of followers on the platform back in 2019, surpassing Fifth Harmony. They’ve since doubled the number of their Spotify followers in approximately a year and 3 months. It is reviewed that the group has solidified their status as the ‘top girl group’.
BLACKPINK is expanding their influence on platforms including Spotify and YouTube. With a total of 26 videos with over 100M view, their channel currently has over 58.8M subscribers, which is the biggest number of subscribers among all female artists in the world. They are right behind Justin Bieber, who is the most subscribed artist on YouTube in the world.
Considering that Spotify and YouTube has changed the global music market trend, the statistics are very meaningful. They show the music fans’ consistent interest, anticipation, and confidence they have towards an artist.
The individual member powers of BLACKPINK are also rising. As the second runner of BLACKPINK’s solo project following JENNIE, ROSÉ topped iTunes Song charts in a total of 51 different countries including the US, after her solo album release on the 12th.
The MV for the title track of the album, ‘On The Ground’, is also achieving remarkable success. The video became the ‘Most Watched Video in the First 24 Hours’ on YouTube after its release and has currently surpassed 78M views. Looking at the trend, the video is expected to set another K-Pop female solo artist record when it surpasses 100M views.
