JIHOON of TREASURE Makes Successful Debut as MC on ‘Inkigayo’… Full of Positive Energy
[OSEN=선미경 기자] JIHOON of YG’s rookie group TREASURE made his successful debut as an MC of ‘Inkigayo’.
On SBS ‘Inkigayo’ broadcasted on the 7th, JIHOON of TREASURE made his appearance as the new MC of the program. He showed off his perfect chemistry with Sungchan of NCT and Ahn Yujin of IZ*ONE.
JIHOON became an MC of a terrestrial network music broadcast, the ‘K-Pop Star gateway’, in 7 months since making debut. He appeared in a sky-blue outfit full of freshness and grabbed the viewers’ eyes and ears with his vivacious and lively charms.
He also stood out during the special performance they’ve prepared with Sungchan and Ahn Yujin. Decorating the opening of ‘Inkigayo’ with AKMU’s ‘Give Love’, the 3 MCs captivated the fans with their exciting and bright performance. JIHOON presented his fresh charms differentiated from what he’s presented as a member of TREASURE, including his strong and powerful group dance moves.
JIHOON shared his energetic resolution by stating, “We finally meet you as the new MCs of ‘Inkigayo’. Please look forward to us rookie MCs”, making the viewers look forward to every Sunday.
JIHOON, who showed off his talents as the ‘MC prodigy’ with his exciting character and witty talk skills on ‘TREASURE MAP’, lived up to the expectations and proved his stable competency as an MC. He also received favorable reviews from the viewers with his ‘tiki-taka’ chemistry with the new MCs.
As the previous MCs of ‘Inkigayo’ have received love from the viewers with their variety of charms, JIHOON will follow their legacy and is expected to receive love from the viewers. Moreover, the synergy effect by ‘Inkigayo’ and TREASURE, the next-generation K-Pop leaders, is expected to strengthen and spread the influence of K-Pop in and out of Korea.
TREASURE, the group JIHOON is part of, proved their global popularity by being selected as the ‘Fastest Growing Artist’, according to Twitter’s 2020 K-Pop Annual Report. They were also ranked at no. 6 on the ‘Most Loved K-Pop Artist in the World’ category, and was reviewed as the monster rookies of K-Pop.
In fact, TREASURE has achieved a milestone of reaching over a million in album sales with ‘THE FIRST STEP’ series albums.
