TREASURE, the Biggest K-Pop Rookies This Year… Biggest Album Sales Record Among All Rookies
[뉴시스=이재훈 기자] YG Entertainment’s TREASURE became the best rookies of the year.
According to Hanter charts announced on the 14th, TREASURE’s first single album ‘THE FIRST STEP : CHAPTER ONE’ reached over 120 thousand sales and was ranked at no.1 on the real-time physical copy sales category.
They’ve became the K-Pop rookie group with the biggest sales records as soon as they’ve made debut. Their figure has surpassed the previous best record among all K-Pop Rookies(Sales within the first week after album release).
TREASURE’s success have been anticipated. Their debut album not only grabbed attention in Korea, but also in Japan and China, adding up to more than 200 thousand pre-orders.
YG stated, “TREASURE’s record is expected to rise. Their activities lead to what they’ve been targeting as the K-Pop group targeting the global music market”.
TREASURE’s title song ‘BOY’ topped iTunes Song charts in 19 different countries including Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. The ‘BOY’ MV has also surpassed 10M views in 26 hours and is about to reach 20M view soon.
The song ‘BOY’ also topped Line Music’s Top Song 100 Daily Chart for 3 consecutive days. The song has previously topped Line Music, Rakuten Music, and AWA, which are the biggest music platforms in Japan.
TREASURE is YG’s rookie group being announced in 4 years since BLACKPINK. The group is composed of 12 members including CHOI HYUN SUK, JIHOON, YOSHI, JUNKYU, MASHIHO, YOON JAE HYUK, ASAHI, BANG YE DAM, DOYOUNG, HARUTO, PARK JEONG WOO, and SO JUNG HWAN.
