ROSÉ’s Solo Album Sets New Record with 440 Thousand Initial Album Sales… Best K-Pop Female Solo Record

[OSEN=지민경 기자] BLACKPINK ROSÉ topped major global charts including the US Billboard, while setting the best K-Pop female solo artist record with just her regular album sales.

According to Hanteo Charts on the 23rd, BLACKPINK ROSÉ’s first solo single album ‘R’ has achieved an initial sales record(Sales for a week since its release) of 448,089. This does not include the limited-edition LP and only includes the CD and KiT album sales, so the numbers are expected to increase.

ROSÉ’s ‘R’ has received over 500 thousand pre-orders, noticing to bring in a storm. In fact, ‘R’ has already set the best K-Pop female solo artist history(based on Hanteo Charts) by reaching 280 thousand in sales as soon as it was released on the 16th.

ROSÉ has hit the global music market, beyond Korea. The title track ‘On The Ground’ topped the US Billboard Global 200. It is the best record in K-Pop solo artist history.

The ‘Billboard Global 200’ ranks the most popular songs based on streams and downloads accumulated from 200 different regions of the world, including the US. Since it is a new standard created to reflect the latest market trend, the chart is establishing its position as one of the main global charts on Billboard.

After releasing her solo debut album on the 12th, ROSÉ is setting milestones in various global charts, including the US Billboard.

‘On The Ground’ has topped iTunes Top Song Charts in 51 different countries including the US, as well as being ranked at no. 1 on the Global YouTube Song Chart(3/12~3/18) and the MV chart.

The song also entered the Global Top 50 chart of Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform, as no. 8 and has solidified its position in the top 10. The song was also ranked at no. 43 on UK’s Official Chart Singles Top 100, proving ROSÉ’s global presence in the major Pop market once again.
