BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ Ranked at No. 1 on the K-Pop Radar Weekly, ‘New History’
[뉴스엔=김명미 기자] ‘How You Like That’ by girl group BLACKPINK, who made a glamorous comeback while setting new world records, was ranked at no. 1 on the Weekly K-Pop Radar.
BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ MV reached 93.6M views on the 26th week of 2020(June 21~June 27) and was ranked at no. 1 on the K-Pop Radar’s Weekly YouTube Views chart. It is the highest figure in K-Pop Radar history.
K-Pop Radar explained, “BLACKPINK is the first artist to reach over 90M views in the Weekly K-Pop Radar”. They added, “The record is more meaningful since the views were recorded for only 30 hours during the weekly period”.
They continued, “Their previous release, ‘Kill This Love’, reached 56.7M views in 24 hours, while ‘How You Like That’ reached 82.37M views, which is approximately 1.5 times more”. They added, “It seems that the global fans responded after waiting for BLACKPINK’s comeback for a long time”.
The ‘How You Like That’ MV is racking up views at a fast pace. As a result, it reached 100M views in approximately 32 hours on the 28th, earning the honorable title of becoming the fastest MV on YouTube to reach 100M views.
‘Kill This Love’ has previously reached 100M views in 2 days and 14 hours, setting the fastest record at the time, which adds more meaning to the new world record set by ‘How You Like That’.
Furthermore, in addition to ‘How You Like That’, BLACKPINK’s existing hits including ‘Kill This Love’(11.39M views) and ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’(10.62M views) were ranked at no. 4 and no. 6 on the K-Pop Radar Weekly chart, respectively. With 3 songs listed on the TOP10, BLACKPINK proved themselves as the top global girl group.
The 26th Week K-Pop Radar Weekly YouTube Views chart listed Seventeen’s ‘Left & Right’ at no. 3 with 25.61M views. Goldenchild’s ‘ONE, Lucid Dream’ MV uploaded on Woolim Entertainment and 1theK’s official accounts reached 11M and 9.95M views respectively, reaching no. 5 and no. 8 at the same time.
Stray Kids’ ‘God’s Menu’(20.62M), TWICE’s ‘MORE & MORE’(10.14), PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’(8.79) and IZONE’s ‘Secret Story of the Swan’(8.68M) were also listed on the Weekly K-Pop Radar TOP 10.
Meanwhile, K-Pop Radar, established by Space Oddity-the music startup company, releases weekly charts based on YouTube views accumulated every week, and has gathered attention by revealing the ‘2019 K-POP World Map’ based on their collected data.
