BLACKPINK Tops iTunes Charts in 60 Different Countries… The Best Record in Korean Girl Group HIstory
[연합뉴스=오보람 기자] BLACKPINK topped iTunes charts in 60 different countries of the world, setting the best record in K-Pop girl group history.
According to YG Entertainment on the 27th, BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ was ranked at no. 1 on the iTunes ‘Top Song’ charts in 60 different regions of the world, including the US. It is a record on reaching no. 1 on the most number of regions in K-Pop girl group history.
The song was also ranked at no. 1 on Japan’s Line Music and QQ Music, which is China’s biggest music platform.
As soon as the song was released, it reached no. 1 on real-time charts of Korean major music platforms including Melon, Genie Music, and Bugs, and is still maintaining its no. 1 spot.
There are many attentions on BLACKPINK’s new MV, as they have 6 MVs with over 500M views.
The MV for ‘How You Like That’ has reached 60M views on YouTube today at 9:30 AM, in approximately 15 hours since its release.
The agency explained that the video is heading towards 100M views two times faster than their previous hit, ‘Kill This Love’, which reached 100M views in 63 hours.
‘How You Like That’, presented by BLACKPINK in 1 year and 2 months, is a song that will be listed on their first-ever official album upcoming in September.
The song is a Hip-hop track composed of orchestra sounds playing in the intro, catchy chorus, and fierce EDM(electronical dance music) sounds in the end. It contains the message of moving forward and up despite any dark situations.
BLACKPINK will appear on NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ today and reveal their performance of ‘How You Like That’ for the first time today.
