BLACKPINK Appears on Large-Scale Billboards in the US, Prior to Their Upcoming Coachella Performance+Tour

[스포츠조선=조윤선 기자] BLACKPINK is appearing on large billboards located downtown of major cities, grabbing the people’s attention.

After releasing their new EP album ‘Kill This Love’ on the 5th, BLACKPINK headed to the US to start their local promotional activities.

On April 13 at 12 PM(KST), BLACKPINK will perform at ‘Coachella Festival’ for the first time as a K-Pop idol group. The festival is known as the biggest music festival of the US. They will then hold their North America tour consisted of 8 concerts in 6 cities, staring in Los Angeles on the 17th.

Prior to their upcoming schedules, large-scale billboards featuring BLACKPINK in various locations of the US are grabbing the people’s attention. The billboards are located in major locations such as New York Times Square, LA Beverly Center, LA downtown, and LA Sunset & La Cienaga.

The billboard ads were placed by Interscope Records of Universal Music Group, who recently partnered with BLACKPINK. In addition to the billboard ads, many different local promotional activities are scheduled for BLACKPINK.

The title song ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ from BLACKPINK’s new EP entered Spotify’s Global Top50 chart as no. 4 and its US Top50 chart as no. 35. Spotify is the largest music platform in the entire globe.

On Spotify, the most influential music platform with approximately 197 million users, BLACKPINK stood tall in the top ranks among global musicians such as Billie Eilish, Jonas Brothers, and Ariana Grande.

‘KILL THIS LOVE’ has also topped iTunes Song charts in 37 different regions of the world, including the US. They became the first K-Pop girl group to top the according chart. In addition, BLACKPINK topped Japan’s iTunes Comprehensive Album chart, Pop Album chart, while being ranked at no. 1 on the Line Music Song TOP100.

The MV for ‘KILL THIS LOVE’ surpassed 100 million views on YouTube in 2 days and 14 hours which is the fastest record in the world, and has currently surpassed 160 million views.
