[REVIEW IS] ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, BANG YE DAM·HARUTO·SO JUNGHWAN·KIM JUNKYU Confirmed to Make Debut… 3 People Remains
[일간스포츠=황지영 기자] BANG YE DAM, HARUTO, SO JUNGHWAN, and KIM JUNKYU confirmed their debut on ‘YG TREASURE BOX’. The birth of YG’s new boy group that will follow the legacy of BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON is now imminent.
On January 18, YG Entertainment revealed the final stage of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’, the stage which will select members of YG’s next generation boy group. ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ was placed at no. 2 on the non-drama popularity list announced by Good Data Corporation, the TV popularity analysis agency, for 2 consecutive weeks. The show has accumulated a total of 100 million views on VLIVE and YouTube, while the individual channels by the trainees have reached almost 50 million views.
In the midst of the high attention, the 11 trainees including KIM DOYOUNG, KIM JUNKYU, MASHIHO, PARK JEONGWOO, PARK JIHOON, BANG YE DAM, SO JUNGHWAN, LEE BYOUNG GON, CHOI HYUNSUK, HARUTO, and HA YOONBIN and the additional finalists including KIM SEUNGHUN and YOON JAEHYUK got on the final stage. The competitions were held as position battles, and the no. 1 trainees on each position were to finalize debut at the spot. The remaining four had to combine the representative producer score of 50%, preliminary online voting score of 20%, live scene voting scores of 30%, and the ones with the highest scores would make debut in order.
HARUTO confirmed his debut by being ranked at no. 1 on the rap position. He shed tears of joy. BANG YE DAM, the strong debut candidate, was called as the no. 1 on the vocal position. He stated, “I have many mixed feelings. I felt I lack compared to JUNKYU’s popularity or JEONGWOO’s skills, so I was worried and couldn’t expect or imagine this outcome”. SO JUNGHWAN was placed at no. 1 on the dance position, creating an unexpected outcome. SO JUNGHWAN looked surprised, but then shed tears and stated, “It feels like a dream, I can’t believe it”.
Following the no. 1 trainees per position, the debut member who was called first was KIM JUNKYU. KIM JUNKYU’s name was called in the tense mood when trainees were being called regardless of positions, KIM JUNKYU shared his joy with his parents.
Producer YANG HYUN SUK stated, “I should surely congratulate the four members standing up on the podium. They are not enemies, but friends who shed tears and sweat together in the same practice room. You all did a great job for the past 6 months”.
The three remaining members to make debut will be revealed through VLIVE on the 21st, 23rd, and 25th at 11 AM.
