BLACKPINK JENNIE is Setting Milestones as a Female Solo Artist! MV for ‘SOLO’ Surpasses 90 Million Views in 18 Days
[한국일보=강기향 기자] The second episode of SOLO Diary, which reveals behind stories from the filming scene of the MV for JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ has been revealed.
On December 2 at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded JENNIE’s SOLO Diary through their official blog. The clip covered the 3rd day of the MV filming scene in London as diary format.
The uploaded clip showed JENNIE practicing her choreography before she filmed herself dancing in front of a graffiti art. Prior to the dance scene, JENNIE stated, “I practiced dancing for exactly 3 hours. I’m really worried”. However, despite her concern, she finished the shooting in one take while presenting fantastic skills.
When the outdoor shooting schedule was about to end, JENNIE did not lose her focus despite the cold late-autumn weather of London. After successfully completing all filming, JENNIE frugally took care of all the staff members while stating, “Great job everyone” at the scene.
JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ diary videos released until now reveals the behind stories from the MV filming scene of ‘SOLO’, shot in various locations of London including graffiti art, a mansion, garden, and a carousel.
Meanwhile, the MV for ‘SOLO’ surpassed 90 million views in just 18 days, setting the fastest record in Korean female solo artist history. The MV for ‘SOLO’ has previously surpassed 10 million views in 15 hours since its release, 50 million views in 4 days and 14 hours, 60 million views in 6 days, 70 million views in 10 days, and 80 million views in 13 days, setting the fastest records in Korean female solo artist history.
JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’ maintained its no. 1 spot on major Korean real-time music charts for 15 days, while dominating daily and weekly charts as well. JENNIE also achieved a ‘perfect all-kill’ on the weekly charts for the second week of November announced by all music streaming platforms, including Melon. She also won 3 trophies in the 46th week Gaon Chart by dominating Digital, Downloads, and Streaming Charts.
While proving her strong presence as a ‘solo artist’, JENNIE will perform ‘SOLO’ on December 2 by appearing on SBS ‘Inkigayo’.
