JENNIE, “The First Broadcast of ‘SOLO’ Will be in a Week”… Choreography Alternate Version Additionally Revealed

[OSEN=선미경 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK’s member JENNIE is maintaining her no. 1 on music charts for 6 consecutive days with her debut single ‘SOLO’, while the MV for the song also reached 50 million views, rewriting the fastest records previously held by other Korean female solo artists. 

The attention on JENNIE was rather explosive than the expression that it was more than expected, since the song topped iTunes Charts in 40 different countries and even the Global Chart, while the MV for ‘SOLO’ was selected as the most watched MV in the world for two days since the song was released. 

However, there is one thing that JENNIE could not do. That is, music broadcasts planned for this weekend have been canceled due to special circumstances by broadcasting stations, so JENNIE’s first debut on a music broadcast as a solo artist is being delayed. 

What all artists share in common is that they want to present their performances prepared and practiced for a long time, as soon as possible for the fans.

To cheer up the fans, YG released a choreography video which was originally unscheduled. The video almost reached 7 million views on the date of its release, revealing the expectations on JENNIE’s choreography and her performance.

The newly released choreography video at 5 PM is the CHOREOGRAPHY ALTERNATE EDITED VERSION that edited the last part of the dance. Unlike the MV that introduced the moves in one-take, the choreography was emphasized with impact through cut editing this time.

The choreography for ‘SOLO’ includes catchy point moves of touching her shoulder with her forefinger on the chorus while singing, “I’m a shining SOLO”, and her circle drawing and spinning move performed with her forefinger. 

JENNIE’s digital single ‘SOLO’ set a milestone by topping the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart for the first time as a Korean female solo artist. The record had more meaning since she achieved the result among global Pop-stars including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.

JENNIE also appeared on ‘Michuri’ by SBS premiered on the 16^th, revealing her variety senses once again with Yoo Jaesuk after her appearance on ‘Running Man’, staying active not only on stage performing, but also through variety programs.
