JENNIE Hosts ‘SOLO’ Dance Cover Contest… Prizes Up to 15 Million KRW

Today(23rd) at 1 PM, YG Entertainment uploaded a poster notifying the ‘SOLO’ dance cover contest through their official blog(www.yg-life.com). JENNIE presented her alluring pose under the lights, like the lyrics “I’m a shining solo” indicates.
The ‘SOLO’ dance cover contest will be held from December 1 (Sat) until the 15th, for 15 days. Three winning teams will be selected and will be awarded prize money that adds up to 15 million KRW. The first-place winner will receive 10 million KRW, the second-place winner will receive 3 million KRW, while the third-place winner will receive 2 million won.
Those who wish to participate should upload their cover video of ‘SOLO’ on YouTube and write their personal information and video link through the application form.
The winning team will be selected based on the number of ‘likes’, YouTube views, and internal evaluations, and will be announced through YG’s official social media account on December 20 (Thu).
All choreography moves of ‘SOLO’ including the move where JENNIE touches her shoulder with her index finger and making a circle by spinning her finger are receiving a lot of interest as point moves, so many fans are expected to participate the contest.
After releasing her first digital single ‘SOLO’, JENNIE topped Korean music platforms for 12 consecutive days and achieved a ‘perfect all-kill’ on the weekly chart for the 2nd week of November. On Gaon chart, which known as the comprehensive chart of K-Pop, ‘SOLO’ won a total of 3 trophies by topping the Digital, Downloads, and Streaming Chart.
The song also set a milestone by topping iTunes Charts in 40 different countries, topping the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart for the first time as a Korean female solo artist, and entering the US iTunes Top 10.
The MV for ‘SOLO’ surpassed 70 million views yesterday at 8 PM, in 10 days and 2 hours since the video was released. JENNIE set another fastest record in Korean female solo artist history. The MV containing JENNIE’s various concepts and visuals shot in London is steadily racking up its view count.
The ‘SOLO’ CHOREOGRAPHY UNEDITED VERSION revealed due to the music broadcast cancellation last week surpassed 17 million views, while the ‘SOLO’ CHOREOGRAPHY ALTERNATE EDITED VERSION reached 1.5 million views.
Furthermore, the video of JENNIE performing the song during BLACKPINK’s solo concert in Seoul, prior to the official release of the song, has surpassed 3 million views in 1 day.
JENNIE will meet the fans by presenting her first performance of ‘SOLO’ in a music broadcast. She will appear on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 25th and present her performance of ‘SOLO’ that were only revealed through the MV and choreography videos.
