Major foreign press channels including Billboard and UPI favorably reviewed JENNIE’s first solo track, ‘SOLO’.
Billboard introduced, “BLACKPINK achieved the best results on the ‘Billboard 200’ and ‘Hot 100’ in K-Pop girl group history” and added, “JENNIE expressed herself as an independent woman in her song ‘SOLO’, as the first runner of BLACKPINK’s solo project”.
They reviewed, “Through the song ‘SOLO’ that starts with a refreshing melody, the listeners can feel JENNIE’s mellow yet explosive vocals and rap with swag”.
Billboard added, “JENNIE presented various choreography moves through the MV, while looking perfectly glamorous in designer clothes. Her lovely and trendy style grabs the viewers’ attention”.
US communications network UPI also spotlighted JENNIE’s new song by writing, “One can get a glimpse of JENNIE’s various outfits and performances through the MV for ‘SOLO’”.
JENNIE’s digital single ‘SOLO’ released on the 12th at 6 PM topped 8 real-time music charts in Korea, achieving a ‘chart all-kill’ status for two consecutive days.
JENNIE also set a new milestone by topping the iTunes Worldwide Song Top 200 Chart for the first time as a female Korean solo artist. She achieved the result among global Pop stars such as Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, establishing herself as a global diva through her song ‘SOLO’. Furthermore, ‘SOLO’ topped iTunes charts in 40 different countries, receiving global attention. The MV for the song also surpassed 10 million views in 15 hours since its release and is currently stacking up view counts at a rapid pace.
