“Would Like to Cover All Genres”, US Billboard Reveals an Exclusive Interview with iKON
[일간스포츠=조연경 기자] US Billboard revealed an exclusive interview with iKON.
On October 25 (local time), Billboard introduced iKON by writing, “iKON achieved major success with their single ‘GOODBYE ROAD’ released on October 1”. They added, “Their new mini album ‘NEW KIDS : THE FINAL’ was placed at no. 5 on the World Albums Chart, becoming one of the 5 albums that made it into the top 5 of that chart”.
iKON revealed their thoughts on making comeback, memorable episodes that happened while working on the album, and each member’s favorite track of the album through their interview with Billboard. They also raised the fans’ expectations by revealing their plans regarding new music and upcoming tour schedules overseas.
iKON shared their thoughts by stating, “We made three comebacks this year. All songs released by us were all in different genres. We wanted to show our new aspects”.
Leader B.I emphasized, “We want to be a group that can cover all genres”.
The song ‘GOODBYE ROAD’ noticed iKON’s fantastic comeback by topping major Korean real-time charts as soon as their new album was released. The song also set iKON’s own best record by topping iTunes Album Charts in 25 different countries.
The members stated, “We think a lot of people feel empathy on the lyrics” as the reason why the song was so successful.
In the end, iKON said goodbyes by stating, “We will continue our overseas tour this year. We would like to hold another tour next year as well. We’re also working on our new album, so please look forward to it!”.
After winning 19 trophies on music broadcasts with songs ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, ‘KILLING ME’, and ‘GOODBYE ROAD’, iKON will perform today (27th) in Melbourne, in Singapore on 11/4, in Manila on 11/11, in Jakarta on 11/18, and in Hong Kong on 11/25 as part of their overseas tour schedule, to meet their global.
