On May 25, YANG HYUN SUK answered the fans’ question, “When is BLACKPINK releasing new songs?” through YG LIFE.
He wrote “I admit that BLACKPINK’s vacancy was too long” and \ “The fans wished for more songs since BLACKPINK has been only releasing singles since debut, so BLACKPINK will release their first mini album on June 15”, exciting the fans.
Furthermore, he raised expectations by writing “As we have been preparing for a long time, we were able to create satisfactory outcomes, and we expect that BLACKPINK will be able to consistently release new songs and promote new releases starting from June until the end of this year”. He also added “Please support and look forward to BLACKPINK’s upcoming non-stop run”.
It was previously known that BLACKPINK was preparing to make comeback in the K-Pop scene on June. The expectations are high since it’s been a while since they released their latest single ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ last year on June.
In fact, the group is emitting strong signs of another ‘hit’, while the release date is getting closer. The MV for ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ became the fastest MV by a girl group to surpass 300 million views. BLACKPINK already has the record of achieving 300 million views with their debut song for the first time ever. They also hold the record of having all 5 MVs with over 100 million views, including ‘WHISTLE’, ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, and ‘STAY’.
Furthermore, their first exclusive reality program ‘BLACKPINK HOUSE’ has also set a milestone. ‘BLACKPINK HOUSE’ which first premiered on January 6 through YouTube and Naver V LIVE has already surpassed 100 million views.
