Scenes From iKON’s First Korean Fan Meeting Overflowed With ‘Tears and Laughter’

[한국경제TV=유병철 기자] iKON noticed a new meeting with the fans scheduled on upcoming June.

On March 27, YG Entertainment revealed the behind-the-scenes video clip from iKON’s ‘PRIVATE STAGE’, through their official blog. 

The video contained live footage from iKON’s first official fan meeting in Korea, ‘iKON 2018 PRIVATE STAGE [RE·-KONNECT]’ held at Olympic Hall located at Bangyi, Seoul, on February 11. 

Prior to getting on stage, iKON expressed their excitement in the waiting room by stating, “I’m excited and nervous at the same time. My heart’s pounding” and “We’ll have a good time”.  

iKON decorated the opening of PRIVATE STAGE with the song ‘LONG TIME NO SEE’. JAY, who’s the oldest member of the group showed tears due to his overwhelming emotions, and couldn’t continue singing for a while. 

After presenting live performances and variety corners, iKON presented a special surprise, creating joyful memories for the fans.

iKON stated, “We were happy. We wanted to gift our fans with an unforgettable experience, but it rather feels like we received a special present instead”. They continued, “We’ll prepare our next event so that we can return the love we received”.

Although details were not yet revealed, iKON released a teaser with the title, ‘2018.06’. The members hinted, “We don’t know how but we’ll meet again in June for certain”, raising curiosity of fans. 

iKON is currently at their prime. The title song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ from their 2nd official album was ranked at no. 1 in real-time music charts for 43 days, renewing the previous record of boy groups that existed for 10 years. Furthermore, their new single ‘RUBBER BAND’ topped iTunes charts in 11 different countries, proving their global popularity and syndrome. 

As a response to the support by global fans, iKON will release their first exclusive reality show, ‘iKON TV’, in 4 years since they made debut. The shooting for ‘iKON TV’ started recently, while it is expected that the show will first premiere on April.
