[MUSIC TALK TALK] iKON vs iKON, New Single Release While at No. 1 For 40 Days (ft. MINO)
[OSEN=선미경 기자] Group iKON will release their new single, while maintaining their no. 1 spot in music charts for 40 days.
On March 5 at 6 PM, iKON will release their new single ‘RUBBER BAND’, and extend their activity period. As the song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ is still at no. 1 in music charts and music broadcasts, the new single will create an ‘iKON vs iKON’ situation.
iKON’s new single release is very meaningful.
The fact that iKON will extend their activities with a new song rather than another song from their 2nd official album ‘RETURN’ is meaningful itself. Also, as YANG HYUN SUK promised iKON’s active promotion in the Korean market, iKON is following up their success with ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ with another single release. This will be a special gift for the fans as well.
Furthermore, this single is a collaborative work between YG’s brother groups, iKON and WINNER. ‘RUBBER BAND’ is the first song co-written and composed by B.I who usually manages producing song by iKON and MINO from WINNER. People are expecting to meet a fresh combination of the two people, who helped their respective teams develop into groups that represent YG.
iKON and WINNER first formed their competitive composition through Mnet’s survival program called ‘WIN’, back in 2013. WINNER debuted first since they won the competition, and the two groups were called ‘brother groups’ since iKON followed. They became partners rather than competitors with the new single that will be released later today.
YG Entertainment stated, “Since the two teams are collaborating a lot these days, we are expecting and hoping that more collaborative work by the two teams will follow up after the release of ‘RUBBER BAND’”, raising expectations by fans.
People are already paying keen attention on whether iKON, who are continuing their flawless no. 1 march in music charts, will continue their no. 1 record with the new single.
