Group iKON is continuing their no. 1 march. While the title song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ from iKON’s 2nd official album released on January 25 is still no. 1 in music charts for 41 days, the new single ‘RUBBER BAND’ released on March 5 is also receiving positive reviews. They are following up their popularity with another song by iKON.
‘LOVE SCENARIO’ was at no. 1 for 40 consecutive days on the 5th. Although iKON’s new single and Wanna One’s new song was released, they are still at no. 1 in Monkey 3, Mnet, and Korea’s largest music platform Melon, as of March 6, 11 AM. They proved their popularity once again, by taking the no. 1 spot in Korea’s largest music platform.
iKON now has two songs in the top 10 in music charts. Both ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ and ‘RUBBER BAND’ is gaining popularity from fans. The song ‘RUBBER BAND’ entered the top 10 in music charts, continuing iKON’s previous success. It is safe to say that we are living the ‘iKON era’.
Furthermore, the popularity of the song overseas also proves iKON’s global influence. As of March 6, 9 AM (KST), the song is at no. 1 on iTunes Charts in 11 different countries, including Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. They set a milestone as one of the groups that represent K-POP.
The song ‘RUBBER BAND’ metaphorically compares the tension of love with a rubber band, while the popular chord progression captures the ears of listeners. The bright melody that perfectly fits early spring and iKON’s unique emotions attract the listeners as well.
In addition, the song is a special gift for the fans, and has more meaning since iKON’s B.I collaborated with MINO, who is from iKON’s brother group WINNER. The positive reviews on the level of completion of the song makes people expect more from the artist-like groups. iKON’s hard work and efforts put into ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ is finally being recognized through their new single, ‘RUBBER BAND’.
