iKON, No.1 On China’s QQ Music Weekly Chart For 4 Consecutive Weeks
[서울경제 서경스타=이하나기자] iKON was placed at no. 1 for 4 consecutive weeks on QQ Music, China’s largest music streaming platform.
The title-song from iKON’s 2nd official album ‘RETURN’ released last month on the 25th, ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, was placed at no. 1 in QQ Music’s K-POP Weekly Chart for 4 consecutive weeks, proving their global popularity.
iKON became the first group to top the K-POP Music Weekly Chart for 4 consecutive weeks in QQ Music since 2017 after number of streams and downloads became visible for the users, proving iKON’s global popularity.
QQ Music is China’s representative music streaming platform, which has a total of 400 million active users per month. In other words, iKON’s new record proves their overwhelming popularity in the great China region.
However, iKON’s popularity overseas is not only limited to the China region. They have received love-calls from countries with the largest music industries, including the United States and Japan, displaying and solidifying their position as K-POP stars.
Furthermore, various media channels worldwide including Billboard, BuzzFeed, and Fuse TV gave spotlight to iKON’s rise as K-POP’s best idol group, and the group even dominated no. 1 positions in iTunes charts of 17 different countries.
While iKON is currently on the rise as global stars, they are planning to release a new single on March 5. The whole K-POP scene is paying keen attention to what kind of new milestones iKON will achieve with their new single, as the group is maintaining their no. 1 spot for 36 days with the song, ‘LOVE SCENARIO’.
