SEUNGRI Reveals Fluent Chinese Skills at the Press Conference For ‘LOVE ONLY’
[iMBC=김재연 기자] BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI kicked off his active promotion of his first Chinese film with his fluent Chinese skills. On February 9, the press conference for ‘LOVE ONLY’ was held at New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel located in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The film stylish visuals from Beijing, Hong Kong, France, UK, and Saipan. The stylish elements and romantic emotions are sophisticatedly illustrated on the film. While the filming was done in 2016, the movie confirmed its premiere date to March 2, and is ready to spread out in China and other countries in Asia.
EUNGRI played a role of a biracial Asian who grew up in Europe, and works as a marketing executive for a large corporation. He played a character who would give his everything for love. With Chinese star actress Guo Bi-ting, SEUNGRI will portray a sweet and romantic love.
As SEUNGRI appeared at the press conference, he delivered flowers for the heroine, Guo Bi-ting, while stating, “I, SEUNGRI, will do everything I can with Guo Bi-ting for the movie ‘LOVE ONLY’”. He continued, “I announce that I will pass on the emotions of love between two individuals all over the world, and to the universe”, capturing attention from the media and related personnel.
While revealing that the character ‘Winson’ he played in the movie is a lot like himself in real life, he stated, “Korea, China, and Hong Kong are close and have similar cultures so I felt empathy, and I also wanted to challenge myself”, explaining the reason why he decided to star in the movie.
SEUNGRI attended the press conference without an interpreter, and led a lively mood at the scene. At the MC’s question amazed by his fluent Chinese, SEUNGRI replied, “I started learning foreign language about 7-8 years ago, and I try not to use an interpreter”. He continued, “I always ask when I don’t understand something, and that’s the reason why I got fluent in Chinese”.
The film ‘LOVE ONLY’ starring SEUNGRI as the main protagonist will premiere in China on March 2. The premiere is planning expand from China to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, and more.
