[텐아시아=현지민 기자] Group iKON have worked non-stop this year, becoming an ‘icon of hard-work’.

On December 9, iKON had an opening of ‘iKON JAPAN X’mas LIVE 2017’, which will take place for two days in Japan’s Yokohama Arena. As it was their first live performance at a center stage, it was a meaningful time for both iKON and their fans, ‘iKONIC’.

iKON decorated their opening stage with the song ‘B-DAY’, which took the no. 1 spot as soon as it entered Oricon’s Weekly CD Album Rankings. 15,000 fans greeted iKON by cheering out loud for them.

iKON then performed their hit songs, ‘WHAT’S WRONG?’ and ‘SINOSIJAK REMIX’, raising the mood of the concert. They even performed a cover of a Christmas song in the middle of the live performance, making the audience feel warm.

Also, YG Entertainment’s KATIE KIM, the winner of ‘K-Pop Star Season 4’ appeared as a special guest, and displayed diversified performances. KATIE sang ‘SECRET’ along with BOBBY and DK, capturing the eyes and ears of the audience at once.

The three artists have shown perfect harmony through ‘LOVE AND FALL’, which is BOBBY’s debut solo album that took the no. 1 spot on Itunes album charts in 22 countries.

It was a meaningful moment for both KATIE who performed the song that could only be heard from the album for the first time on stage, and the fans that have eagerly waited for KATIE to perform. At the end of the concert, members of iKON cosplayed as Santa, presenting a special memory for the audience.

Prior to this concert, iKON successfully completed the ‘iKON JAPAN DOME TOUR 2017’, which consisted of 24 concerts and 313,000 audiences.

iKON proved their popularity and influence through their record of the longest Japan tour with the greatest number of concerts.

After actively displaying themselves in and out of Korea this year, iKON gave notice on a splendid comeback on January 2018. People are already wondering what kind of musical differentiation iKON will go through, as they have received spotlights from the U.S Billboard with songs ‘BLING BLING’ and ‘B-DAY’ which took the no. 1 spot on Itunes album charts in 13 countries.

Besides releasing albums and performing concerts, iKON displayed their true-selves from JTBC’s ‘iKON PICNIC’ which aired its last episode yesterday, receiving positive reviews. iKON is already following up by preparing a comeback in Korea on upcoming January.
