[New Songs for the Commute Home] BOBBY’s Solo Debut Shows YG’s Confidence in Him
[OSEN=정지원 기자] iKON’s BOBBY released “I Love You” and “RUNAWAY”, announcing his solo debut.
BOBBY’s solo regular album “LOVE & FALL” was released online at 6 PM on September 14.
The title tracks of the album are “I Love You” and “RUNAWAY”. BOBBY will show a side of himself that is different from him as an iKON member and a different music style.
“I Love You” is fast tempo upbeat song about a couple that has stayed together for a long time but is on the verge of breaking up. So far, BOBBY has been doing hard hip-hop songs, but with this song, he is doing an upbeat song for the first time ever. The chorus part in which BOBBY repeats “I love you” is catchy.
“RUNAWAY” is a song about the feeling of wanting to run away and not see anyone. It conveys BOBBY’s real feelings. The song is about deviation from accepted norms, something that all young people dream about at least once. The simple chords and fresh guitar sounds are impressive.
BOBBY got the inspiration for “I Love You” from a webtoon and “RUNAWAY” from the lyrics of MINO’s “FEAR”.
The album has a total of ten tracks. BOBBY participated in writing the music and lyrics of all the ten tracks, which show his improved music and deeper emotions. BOBBY is the first YG artist that has released a solo album since BIGBANG members, demonstrating YG’s confidence in him.
Meanwhile, BOBBY let himself known to the public by appearing on Mnet’s “WHO IS NEXT: WIN” in 2013. Then, he won Mnet’s Show Me The Money 3 for the first time as an idol trainee. Afterwards, he debuted as a member of iKON and formed a project unit group named MOBB with WINNER’s MINO.
The online version of BOBBY’s new album was released at 6 PM on September, and its offline version will be released on September 15.
